Udupi, Sep 10: The Patrons Day celebration was held in St Mary’s English Medium School, Kannarpady, Udupi on Tuesday, September 9 at St Mary’s Auditorium with great fervour and devotion, honouring the beloved patron, Mother Mary. The event was a grand tribute to her guiding spirit and compassion.
The programme commenced with a soulful Marian hymn sung by talented student choir, setting a reverent tone for the celebration. Chief guest, Dr John Sequeira, OCD, Fr Leo Praveen D’Souza, assistant parish priest, Mother of Sorrows Church, vice president and secretary of the parish pastoral committee Maxim Alva and Col Dr Arthur Rodrigues, principal Fr Vijay Joyson D’Souza, and vice principal Rita Quadros, head girl Navy Shetty were escorted to the stage by adorable KG students.









































Laveena Menezes delivered a warm welcome address, highlighting the significance of the day. A floral tribute was paid to Mother Mary's statue by the guests, symbolizing our love and respect for our patron.
Chief guest Dr John Sequeira, OCD, was felicitated by the dignitaries. Helen Cornelio read the words of felicitation. He in his address emphasized the importance of faith, compassion, and service, inspiring students to follow Mother Mary's virtues and also to protect and safeguard our second mother nature. Fr Vijay D’Souza delivered a heartfelt presidential address, guiding students to stay rooted in their values and seek Mother Mary's guidance.
School authorities felicitated generous sponsors who contributed to the sweet distribution during the Novena days, spreading joy and kindness among students.
The cultural programme was a vibrant showcase of students' talents.
Little ones of kindergarten section performed a delightful dance, praising Mumma Mary. Higher Primary students creatively depicted the apparitions of Mother Mary, showcasing their devotion and artistic skills. A skit on "Every Meal Matters”, presented by High School students was a thought-provoking one, promoting awareness about food waste and gratitude.
The programme concluded with the school anthem, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks by Shruthi. Bradley Vaz skilfully anchored the event, ensuring a smooth and engaging celebration.
