Mangaluru: Srinivas University celebrates Traditional Day ‘PARAMPARA’

Mangaluru, Sep 11: The Institute of Port Shipping and Logistics Management, Srinivas University, celebrated Traditional Day under the theme ‘PARAMPARA – Tradition Meets Pride’ at the University Auditorium on September 2. The event, organized by the Cultural Forum, aimed at promoting cultural heritage, unity, and pride among students.

The formal function began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address. A special highlight of the occasion was the guest talk delivered by Dr Venkatesh Amin, dean, IPSLM, who emphasized the importance of cultural values in education and their role in shaping student identity. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of faculty and students, including Prof Souparnika, HOD, IPSLM, and the cultural coordinators Prof Akshatha, Prof Pavithra, and Prof Nanditha, for their dedicated efforts in making the event a success.

The informal segment brought color and vibrancy with traditional dance performances, games, music, and a ramp walk in traditional attire, reflecting India’s rich cultural diversity. Students and faculty actively participated, creating an atmosphere of inclusivity and celebration.

The event received enthusiastic feedback, with participants appreciating the balance of cultural awareness and entertainment. Suggestions for the future included regional food stalls and traditional attire contests.

PARAMPARA 2025 was a resounding success, reinforcing the bond between tradition and modernity while showcasing the vibrant cultural spirit of Srinivas University.
