Mangaluru: Srinivas University hosts cardio webinar series I

Mangaluru, Sep 11: The Department of Cardiovascular Technology and Cardiac Care Technology, Institute of Allied Health Sciences (IAHS), Srinivas University, hosted Cardio Webinar Series I on Tuesday, On September 2 at its Mukka campus, focusing on the topic ‘LA Strain Imaging and Diastolic Function Assessment.’

The session was held for third-year BSc CVT & CCT students and MSc Echocardiography students. Guided by Prof Pavana Krishnamoorthy, dean of IAHS, and course coordinator Asmitha G Nayak, the event featured faculty members Anusha, Unnathi Prabhu, Muhammed Shafid C S, Ciya Sabu, and Abhishek K Shetty.

Hanana Fousiya, senior cardiac sonographer at Little Flower Hospital and Research Centre, Angamaly, delivered an in-depth presentation highlighting the importance of diastolic function assessment and advanced echocardiographic techniques like LA strain imaging. The programme began with a welcome by Muhammed Shafid C S and concluded with a vote of thanks from Abhishek K Shetty.

The interactive webinar deepened students’ understanding of cutting-edge echocardiographic tools, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 – Good Health and Well-being and SDG 4 – Quality Education by promoting advanced healthcare knowledge and skill-based education.

Students responded enthusiastically, gaining valuable insights into cardiac function assessment and advanced imaging methods skills that will prove essential in their professional careers.
