Mangaluru, Sept 13: A dramatic road mishap occurred on Saturday afternoon near Ekkur on National Highway 66, when a lorry laden with wooden planks overturned en route to Talapady.

The accident was reportedly caused by overspeeding and reckless driving, leading the driver to lose control of the vehicle mid-way.

Miraculously, the driver escaped with only minor injuries, avoiding a potentially fatal outcome.

The overturned lorry blocked the busy highway, triggering a traffic jam and causing major inconvenience to other road users. Efforts to clear the vehicle and ease congestion were underway shortly after the incident.
