Udupi: Road repair work begins in Parkala, relief for commuters

Udupi, Sep 15: Road repair work at Kela Parkala has finally begun after continuous demands from the general public.

Udupi–Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary visited the site and ordered the immediate repair of the road, instructing that the work should begin on Monday, September 15. As per the orders of the MP, MLA, and deputy commissioner, the repair work commenced on Monday.

On the first day, contractors began work near Kela Parkala, where road asphalting is currently underway. From September 16, only one-way traffic will be allowed. Vehicles traveling towards Karkala–Hebri–Shivamogga will be rerouted through Eshwarnagara–Saralebettu–Parkala Market and will rejoin the National Highway at Parkala town.

The repair work in Parkala will continue until September 22, during which time only one-way vehicular movement will be permitted.
