Kaup, Sep 18: Sri Mahalakshmi Temple, Sri Kshetra Uchila, managed Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Mahajan Sangh Uchila, in collaboration with the department of Kannada and culture, Government of Karnataka and with the support of devotees, to host the fourth edition of ‘Udupi Uchila Dasara-2025’ from September 22 to October 2.
Nadoja Dr G Shankar, honorary advisor Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha Uchila, addressing the media in the press conference held at Mogaveera Bhavan, Uchila, on September 17, said, “The three editions of Udupi Uchila Dasara gained global fame, the fourth edition will be held from September 22 to October 2. The installation of Navadurga and Sharada Devi Idols will be held on September 22, at 9 am by temple priest Kukkikatte Ragavendra Tantri and Ragavendra Upadhyay. On the occasion of Sarannavaratri, Chandika Homa will be held every day from 9 am to 12 pm, annasantharpane from 12 pm to 3 pm and a mass Kumkumarchane will be held by Sumangalayas from 5.30 pm to 6.15 pm.”





Various religious events will be held from September 22 to October 2, including Bhajan programmes from 10 am, religious assembly programme every evening, Kalpokta pooja from 8.30 am and Mahachandika Yaga. Maha Poornahuti will be held on October 2, Vijayadashami.
The celebration also included various cultural programmes, rangoli competition, fancy dress competition for kids, painting competition, women’s tiger dance competition, bodybuilding competition, wrestling match, dance competition, drama, devotional music by renowned troupes and Yakshagana will be held.
The highlight of the celebration includes performance by Guru Kiran Nights on September 22, Nada Vaikunta by Patla Sathish Shetty on September 24, Historical drama ‘Chatrapthi Shivaji’ under the direction of Viajaykumar Kodiyalbail, Tulu drama ‘Pudar Dithuji’ by Devdas Kapikad on September 26, ‘Swara the Band’ from renowned singers from reality shows.
For safe parking facility, the committee has made the parking facility at Saraswathi School ground for devotees coming from Mangalore and ground near Mahalakshmi English Medium School for vehicles coming from Udupi. To facilitate the devotees to have blessings of goddess easily and to cooperate in Maha Annasantharpane, 1500 volunteers, women's team and scouts and guides students will be involved in the cleanliness program.
The inauguration ceremony of spectacular light decorations from Padubidri to Kaup beach will be held on September 21 at 6.30 pm in the presence of dignitaries. Various exhibitions including a flower exhibition, live art exhibition, temple industry demonstration, live fish exhibition, sand sculpture, public awareness art and art by children from special schools, will be displayed on the occasion of Dasara Mahotsav.
The Shobhayatra will be held on October 2, via NH-66 to Yermal, Mooluru, Koppalangadi and ends at Kaup beach. Special arrangements have also been made at Kaup beach for Gangarathi in Kashi tradition by priests, laser show, firework display and drone flower shower to Navaradura, Sharada Devi and the elephant carrying Ambari, cultural evening with live musical performance will also be held.
