Mangaluru: Ladyhill School hosts workshop on stress and classroom management

Mangaluru, Sep 19: Ladyhill English Medium Higher Primary School (ICSE), Urwa, conducted a workshop on stress and classroom management skills for teachers, led by Prof Matthew C Ninan, director of Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar, Udupi.

With 36 teachers participating, Prof Ninan emphasized the theme ‘Every Child Matters and School is for Children.’ He highlighted strategies for effective classroom management, the three types of teachers, and the qualities of a well-managed classroom, stressing humor, positivity, and rapport with students. “A smile goes a long way. Only a teacher who is happy within can spread happiness around,” he remarked.

He also introduced the 4 Ps of a good teacher—Poise, Personality, Preparation, and Presentation encouraging teachers to plan well and avoid negativity. The session was interactive and enriching, with participants actively engaging in discussions.

The workshop was presided over by Sr Jenifer Moras AC, principal, welcomed by Swasthi, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Pratheeksha.

The programme left teachers motivated and empowered to foster classrooms that are both well-managed and filled with joy.
