Ryan International School students join international coastal cleanup drive at Panambur Beach

Mangaluru, Sep 20: Ryan International School, Kulai, Mangaluru students and teachers actively participated in the International Coastal Cleanup Day 2025 – on September 20, an event organised by the Indian Coast Guard headquarters (Karnataka). The initiative aimed to spread awareness about marine pollution, coastal cleanliness, and the importance of protecting our oceans.

As part of the programme, students of Ryan International School performed a skit titled “Superhero Cleanup Drive.” The act highlighted how a “pollution villain” spreads trash but is eventually transformed into a “Recycle Ranger” with the help of children and a Superhero. The performance concluded with the slogan: “Keep it clean, Keep it bright, Clean beaches = Earth’s delight!”

Through their performance, students conveyed a strong message that cleanliness is not just an act but a shared responsibility, while also drawing attention to the dangers of plastic and pollution on marine life.

Adding to the spirit of the day, the students sang “The Mission Paani Anthem” by A R Rahman, promoting the cause of conservation and environmental care. The event was graced by the chief guest Nandakumar Velayudhan Pillai – director, MRPL and the district commander of the Indian coast guard (DIG P K Mishra, TM) , who addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the participants.

Following the formal function, Ryan International School students and teachers joined the beach cleaning drive, actively collecting trash and helping restore the coastline. Students also enthusiastically participated in physical competitions such as push-ups, sit-ups, and sprints, securing prizes and enjoying the event.

Awards were also given to skit performers, choir participants, and competition winners. The programme concluded with refreshments, leaving everyone inspired and motivated.

Through its enthusiastic participation, Ryan International School reaffirmed its commitment to instilling values of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and holistic growth in its students.
