St Aloysius University holds international seminar on collaborative ecosystem

Mangaluru, Sep 22: An international seminar on the theme 'Collaborative ecosystem: Academia and industry in partnership' was organized by the department of business administration at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, on September 20. The event aimed to highlight the importance of strengthening partnerships between academia and industry to foster innovation and prepare students for the corporate world.

Mangalnath, permaculturist, was the chief guest. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, VC of St Aloysius University, Dr Alwyn D’Sa, registrar of the college, Claret Vinaya Pereira, director of BBA, Chethan Shettigar, Sonal Lobo, HoD of BBA, Dr Vinola Sandra Sequeira, convenor, Kishore BN, co-convenor were on the dais.

The talk featured three keynote speakers. The first, Mangalnath MK, a permaculturist, spoke on 'Readiness to embark the new future', encouraging students to embrace adaptability and resilience. Following him, Riyas Meeran, audit manager at KPMG Australia, delivered a session on 'Lessons from the audit room', where he shared real-life experiences to show how classroom learning is applied in the corporate sphere. The final speaker, Rachana Karkera, executive II Talent Acquisition at 7EDGE, presented on 'From campus to corporate', offering practical advice on skills and mindset for transitioning into professional life. A total of 350 students took part on this international seminar.

The sessions were highly engaging and interactive, providing a comprehensive understanding of how collaboration between academia and industry can nurture future professionals. Convened by Dr Vinola and Kishore, the event successfully achieved its goal of inspiring students to recognize the importance of these partnerships in building a dynamic ecosystem that fosters practical learning and career readiness.
