Bantwal, Sep 22: A felicitation and honouring ceremony was organised at Popular Garden, Neralkatte, under the aegis of B Ramanath Rai Abhimani Balaga and Success Parivar Kukkarabettu, on the occasion of the 74th birthday of former minister and KPCC vice president B Ramanath Rai. Senior Congress workers were also honoured during the event.
In his address after receiving the felicitation, Ramanath Rai said he remains ever indebted to the people of Bantwal constituency and the state for the love and trust they have placed in him. He added that he has always worked true to the spirit of the Indian Constitution without any discrimination. Appreciating the gesture, he noted that while Farooq Bayabe has been celebrating his birthday for the past six years, this year he has also honoured 74 senior Congress workers, which is commendable.




Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai, KPCC coordinator Kavu Hemanath Shetty, KPCC secretary M S Muhammad, state vice president of Youth Congress Sriprasad Panaje, and Dr Raghu addressed the gathering.

On the occasion, Ramanath Rai was also felicitated by Netlamudnur zone Congress committee.
Honours were also conferred on Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai, Uppinangady block Congress president U T Tausif, Panemangalore block Congress president Chandrashekar Bhandary, cooperative sector achiever Thoyajaksha Shetty Perne, and social worker Sudarshan Padiyar Vittal.
Senior Congress workers from Netlamudnur, Parlotto, Neralkatte, Kodangemaru, Hosahoklu, Nedyalu, Meenavu, Pantadka, Emmage, Kukkarabettu, Parlotto, Kanyana, Kempugudde, Mani, Sagu, Kodaje, Surikumaru, Anantadi, Nidyar, Bakila, Hirithandabail, Janathagriha, Vadithelu, Jogibettu, Perne, Karuvelu, Biliyur, Enaje, Jogibettu, Madal, Budoli, Kedila, Kolnadu and other villages were among the 74 members felicitated.
NSUI state vice president and chief of the Abhimani Balaga Farooq Bayabe welcomed the gathering. Netlamudnur gram panchayat member Latif Neralkatte proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Hameed Goltamajalu.
