About Kevin Misquith

Presenting his first music concert on Feb 11, 2007, Kevin Misquith is the only singer/composer among the young generation of Konkani musicians who has successfully sustained and delivered good quality consistently over the past four years and reached the milestone of presenting 20 music shows.

Kevin’s music compositions stand apart from most of the other composers of the present day with quality lyrics from various noted poets including Kevin himself and a blend of good music from wide variety of genres Kevin has been successful in introducing a new blend into Konkani music and promoting Konkani music to greater heights which has been very well accepted by the music lovers of all ages across the Konkani world.

His shows also have been quite different from regular Konkani music nites, They have been creating ripples among Konkani music lovers with high energetic and robust on stage performances by him and his band “Milestone”, which has been the most popular bands in Mangalore in recent past. Band Milestone is the backbone of Kevin’s music concerts.

Innovation has been the keystone of Kevin Misquith shows, who has succeeded in establishing a niche in the competitive contemporary Konkani music world. This has worked wonders for the band which has been climbing the ladder of popularity in Konkani music circles for the sheer energy they exude in their music. It goes to the credit of Kevin that within a short period of his music career he has been able to perform consistently doling out quality music with 19 music nites and 3 music albums to his credit.

Kevin Misquith released his first Konkani debut album, ‘Rupnem’. Following the huge response for his debut album, he released yet another Konkani hit album ‘Tuji Yaad’. His latest Konkani album, ‘He Jeen’, was an instant hit with overwhelming response from the Konkani and Non-Konkani music lovers, and was a huge success. ‘He Jeen’ won the ‘Best lyricist’ award for the cult song ‘Kenna Kenna’ and was also nominated in the best composition category at the Global Konkani Music Awards. He not only has recorded these music albums but also has staged several music shows.

Arguably, the band's secret weapon is their dual vocalists; Kevin Misquith and Royston Pinto who are magnetic as they reel off undeniable hits like ‘Mhajea Anjaa’ ‘Thak din dinna’ etc. They throw the audience's devotion back and forth between themselves, mixed in with their teasing and playful wit, that leaves the fans without a moment to gasp for breath. Lead Guitarist Clyde Lobo  and Ashwin Sequeira on the acoustic guitar enhance the magic with their voices. Jackson Noronha, the man on the keyboard, and bassist Rikith Leonard Soans also provide the confident, stable groundwork needed to create such a successful musical uprising. Patson Pereira, is a talented musician on the drums, hailing from a family of musicians he not only plays the drums but is also well versed in playing instruments like the Guitar, Piano etc is an asset of the band.

'Thembe Thembe'

Apart from the hit numbers of the past, the music concert in Pernal will also host the songs from the upcoming album “Thembe Thembe”. The album is set to be released in April 2012, featuring lyrics by the most eminent  Konkani poets of recent times which include the likes of Melyvn Rodrigues, Kishoo Barkur, HM  Pernal, Wilson Kateel, Sanjay Borkar, and Kevin himself. Kevin Misquith has composed the music for the album while various accomplished music arrangers like Darrel Mascarenhas, the recent recipient of Best Music Arranger award at ‘Soad-3 International’ Global Konkani Music Awards, along with Patson Pereira-Jackson Noronha duo, Ashwin Xavier Pinto, Dolwin Mendonca, Roshan D’souza, and Rony Coates  have arranged the music. Hey Roshan D'souza, you seem to be more interested in Kevin Misquith's name than his music, may be because you could not achieve what he has, anyways you need to go out of konkani too and learn, singers name their albums under their name even when the music composer and lyricist are different, here as mentioned in the album info its clearly mentioned kevin has composed all songs and also as per my knowledge kevin himself is a good singer so there is nothing wrong in doing so, moreover on a personal note I congrajulate Kevin for ing songs from diffrent poets which will definitely improve the qulaity of literature of konkani music unlike other composers who themselves do everything and fail to give quality ib atleast one department. The fact the Kevin has performed for 20 shows in such a small span of time when no other young composer has even reached near itself is a testimony for his quality and dedication.

You doesn't know about music. composer make up music, also deciding what instrument/instruments the music is for. Even though lyrics are from others....singer can give his name for his album. Before pointing out, learn something about music.

How can Kevin Misquith give the CD under the banner name of 'Kevin Misquith' when most of the lyrics are from others. When Eric brigns his album he gives the name of Mandd Sobhann not by his name. How can Kevin give his name to this album when the lyrics are from others?
