Iran recalls ambassadors to Europe over sanctions ‘Snapback’

Daijiworld Media Network – Tehran

Tehran, Sep 28: Iran has recalled its ambassadors to France, Britain, and Germany following the trio’s decision to trigger a mechanism to reinstate international sanctions on Tehran, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday.

In a statement, the ministry condemned the E3 countries’ move as “irresponsible” and confirmed that the ambassadors were summoned to Tehran for consultations.

Last month, France, the UK, and Germany formally invoked the so-called “snapback” mechanism, which allows for the reimposition of UN sanctions within 30 days if Iran is deemed to have violated the 2015 nuclear deal.
