Kuwait: Bunt Sangha Elects New Office-bearers

Kuwait, Feb 10:
Bunt Sangha Kuwait (BSK) held its annual general meeting recently at Riggae. The programme commenced with Satyanarayana Pooja followed by bhajans by members.

Outgoing president Sudhakar Shetty presided over the meeting and briefed the members about the various cultural activities organised and social activities undertaken over the past year. He also highlighted the accomplishment of each of his committee members.

Harish Shetty, treasurer briefed the audience about the income and expenditure of the Sangha for the year. Guruprasad Hegde, general secretary, highlighted the various initiatives and proposed the vote of thanks. Token of appreciation was bestowed upon all the subcommittee members, other adults and kids who participated in the various cultural programmes. The managing committee also honoured a few recently married members for promoting social cause of non-dowry marriage, with mementos.

Swarna Shetty, returning officer for the election of the new managing committee briefed on the electoral process for 2012. The committee members were elected unopposed. The incumbent members are president Satishchandra Shetty, vice-president Soma Shekhar Rai, general secretary Jaysheel Shetty, treasurer Sadananda Adhyanthaya, cultural secretary Rakshak Shetty, sports secretary Pandari Shetty, public relations officer Mrs Kalpana Shetty.

The incumbent managing committee members briefly introduced themselves and thanked the members for their support.

The programme was conducted well with a sumptuous lunch from Avanti Palace Restaurant. The programme concluded with a medley of cultural programmes performed by kids and adults, tastefully choreographed by the members. The Indian National Anthem was sung as a fitting finale to the day’s proceedings. The programme was hosted well by Sanath Kumar Shetty.
