Two-day employability skill training programme held at MPM Govt First Grade College, Karkala

Karkala, Sep 30: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the career guidance & placement cell of MPM Government First Grade College, Karkala, in association with Magic Bus India Foundation, Bengaluru, organised a two-day employability skill training programme on 29 and 30 September 2025.

The inaugural session was presided over by principal Dr Suresh Rai K, who emphasised the importance of skill-based training for students to succeed in competitive job markets. The programme was coordinated by Jyothi L Janne, associate professor of Commerce, and Dr Subrahmanya K. C., coordinator of the Career Guidance & Placement Cell. Vinay M S, IQAC coordinator, was present during the occasion.

Shodhana Upadhyaya, training officer at Magic Bus India Foundation, an international NGO specialising in youth empowerment and livelihood development, served as the resource person for the sessions. She engaged participants through interactive activities, group discussions, and practical exercises focused on communication skills, teamwork, interview techniques, and workplace readiness.

Students from the final BBA and final M.Com participated in the programme and stated that the training had boosted their confidence and employment prospects. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a call for more such collaborative initiatives to bridge the gap between academia and industry expectations.
