Granny saves 23 instalments of ‘Griha Lakshmi’ funds for granddaughter’s bright future in Koppal

Koppal, Oct 4: In a heartwarming gesture, a grandmother from Shreeramnagar in Gangavati taluk, Koppal district, has shown how government schemes can transform lives when used wisely.

Shankramma, a beneficiary of the Karnataka government’s ‘Griha Lakshmi’ scheme, chose not to spend the monthly financial aid she received. Instead, she saved all 23 instalments and deposited the entire amount into a bank account in the name of her orphaned granddaughter, Rekha, securing the child’s education and future.

Speaking to locals, the grandmother said she wanted to ensure that Rekha, who lost her parents at a young age, would have the necessary support for her studies and future aspirations. This inspiring act by Shankaramma highlights how the ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ scheme is bringing meaningful change to the lives of women and their families across Karnataka.
