These allocations are mere crumbs—we need investments on the scale of MRPL, NMPT, and other major infrastructure projects. Despite Mangaluru voting heavily for the BJP, the region has seen little meaningful development in return. The roads here are substandard, especially when compared to the Thalapady highway on the Kerala side. It’s disheartening to see such poor quality, which likely reflects the misplaced priorities for this region. Growth and scientific progress seem to have taken a backseat to religion and superstition.
