Cairo, Oct 8: Hamas’s chief negotiator Khalil El-Hayya has called for formal guarantees from US President Donald Trump and allied sponsor countries to ensure that Israel will end hostilities once and for all, during ongoing indirect talks in Egypt.
Speaking to Egyptian state-linked media Al-Qahera News on Tuesday, El-Hayya said, “We do not trust the occupation, not even for a second,” referring to Israel. He emphasised that Hamas has experienced repeated breaches of ceasefires, and therefore demands “real guarantees” to prevent further violations.

El-Hayya accused Israel of violating two ceasefires in the current conflict and warned that without binding assurances, Hamas cannot rely on promises from the Israeli side.
The remarks underscore ongoing tensions in the indirect negotiations, with Hamas seeking international backing to ensure a lasting resolution to the hostilities.
