Ashawadi Prakashan's silver jubilee, decennial anniversary of Poinnari's award & honours declared

Mangaluru, Oct 8: Ashawadi Prakashan, founded in Kuwait in 2000 and currently celebrating its silver jubilee year, along with Poinnari, launched in Mumbai in 2015 and recognized as the only multi (three)-script literary portal in Konkani, is celebrating its decennial year.

The organisations have announced the best book award and honours.

Late Denis D’Cunha Kinnikambla Memorial Best Konkani (Kannada Script) Transliteration Book Award has been conferred on Nirvasit Yatrichi Bhounddi (Poetry by Shailendra Mehta), which carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000, a citation, and a memento.

Other honours include Avil Rasquinha, Bellur (Lifetime Achievement Award – Value-based Journalism), Bernad J D’Costa, Kundapur (Drama, Literature, and Digital Journalism), Clara D’Cunha Arun (Social Service), Wilson D’Souza, Kayyar (Art), Christopher D’Souza, Neenasm (Drama), Samson Lopez, Honnavar (Tiatr and Music), Rohit Sanctus, Someshwar (Social Service), Glanish Martis, Alangar (Literature), and Yvotte Ramona Pereira (Dance).

Ashawadi Prakashan’s silver jubilee programme is scheduled to be held on Sunday, December 14, at MCC Bank Auditorium, Mangaluru, where the awards will be presented.
