Karkala, Oct 10: In a tragic incident, a young man reportedly ended his life by hanging himself in a lodge after allegedly being blackmailed by his own friends, who threatened to leak a private video of him with his girlfriend. The incident occurred on Thursday evening, October 9, at a private lodge in Belman.

The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Acharya (23), a resident of Parappady in Nitte village. Abhishek was employed at a private company in Mangaluru and was reportedly in a relationship with a local woman. Their relationship had progressed to physical intimacy, and the two had allegedly recorded a private video together.

According to available information, Abhishek’s friends came to know about the relationship and allegedly threatened to make the private video viral. Distressed by continuous mental harassment and humiliation, Abhishek reportedly wrote a death note mentioning the names of four individuals who had been blackmailing him before ending his life by hanging in the lodge room.

Karkala Rural police visited the scene, seized the death note and his mobile phone, and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Police said the exact reason behind the suicide would be known only after retrieving data from Abhishek’s mobile phone.

Shocking to know about some friends? And what they can do to friendship?Whatever it is he could have gone to Police instead of taking own life so to teach such friends a lesson .Well its their private fotos need not show to any best friends ,keep it private.Nowadays its a fashion to take private meeting fotos or videos .One has to be careful about it.Instead he could marry directly (If not any obstecles)and finish or ask parents to help?Precious life is gone .now everything is public.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathies to parents and family.Such friends must now be punished hard .Are they happy now?

" the two had allegedly recorded a private video together" but how the third party (friends) got access to his mobile to misuse the private vedio ? Boys have an habit to publicize such private matters with friends at any given time. It's a lesson to learn!

May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find the strength to bear this pain. Never trust blindly and never record or share private videos. Once shared they can destroy lives. True friends protect your dignity, not exploit it.
