Mangalore, Feb 12: It was a carnival atmosphere at Kankanady in the city on Sunday February 12, as scores of John Abraham fans gathered to get a glance at their super-cool Bollywood star.

John was invited to the city for the inaugural function of Euro Gold and Asmi Diamond showrooms.

As John got out of his car, the crazy fans rushed to him for autographs and photographs. As is the case with John wherever he goes, Mangalorean girls too went ga-ga over him, all excited and vying with each other to present him red roses.

John was hardly given the chance to speak as the fans screamed and shouted aloud non-stop, gripped by the mere excitement of seeing him. Some even tried to meddle with the cops to get closer to him. The police had a hard time controlling the crazy fans and had to resort to lathi charge too.

This was perhaps one of the rare occasions when such craziness for an actor was seen in the coastal city, at least in the recent past. In one of the incidents reported, a female fan tried to bite his fingers and an annoyed John slapped her and pushed her aside.

John recently delivered his power-packed performance in Force followed by the cool male escort in Desi Boyz along with Akshay Kumar.

Mangalore is not much different from other places in India. Film personalities have huge fan following and a crazy fan can do anything to touch or talk his fan. Just see Big B and Rajnikanth. There are reports that they are even worshipped like Gods. So what youngsters what they have done is nothing abnormal since John is the favorite of the younger generation. I remember an incident wherein 10 burly foreign bodyguards could not control a surging crowd desperate to have a personal glimpse of Pamela Anderson when she visited Mumbai and she narrowly escaped being man handled!!

John Abraham has beautiful figure. He is very handsome. Katrina Kaif suits him the best. Booths Gals n guys love him so much. Police should not beat fans. John might have been surprised to see so many Manglorean fans around him. Good Luck John.

Welcome John Abraham. First of all, pls don't consider the whole of the crowd to b mangaloreans ,as nowadays mangalore is full of non-mangaloreans.we mangaloreans are not that uncivilized to commit such cheap acts, the faces of many girls on the photographs don't look like a mangalorean, rather be grateful that you have so many fans to meet you!

Joe D'Souza, Mangalore why there was need for you to bring Ramasene and Bajarangies in this matter. This clearly indicates what's there in your mind. Leave Ramasene and Bajarangies alone in this matter. If organizations like Bajarangies take some action in this matter also. You will come back with the comments stating that attack on innocent girls and womens.

My God! whats happening here specially in Mangalore. Grow up guys and gals, John is just another human being. What a crazy crowd to see and touch John Abraham. Such a waste of time standing in long line ups and can be fatal if some mishap like stampede happens, just to have a glimpse of a movie actor. I was a first hand witness to one such incident in Mangalore in around 1992 or so when the Indian cricket team and the 1983 Kapil's team played at Mangala stadium.

I was lucky to be sitting with the Cricket players and I witnessed the crowd going berserk and started running behind the cricketers just to touch and feel them. The cricketers started running for their lives leaving the cricket match and the crowd went wild running behind them, just to touch them. Poor Sachin had to bear the brunt of it as one guy patted him on the back so hard that Sachin was shocked and yelled at him and warned him. This guy must have thought that Sachin is his friend just by seeing him on TV regularly. This is the attitude of our youngsters in Mangalore. They feel that they know these stars just by seeing them on big and small screens everyday.

I really pity these youngsters who have no other work but wait for hours just to see another human being who has made it big. Why can't you guys try and make it big using those same hours you have spent wasting! Grow up guys...sorry to see your plight.

John, welcome to my home town. The people are mad and crazy about you. From the pictures I saw it seems you are more popular than the ministers. The police had no control on the crowd and that is why they to use their lathis. John should not have slapped the girl who in her frenzy bit his finger. You are my fan and I had attended one of your show in NEW YORK sometime back. Thank you Dayanand Kukkaje for the beautiful pictures and keep up the good job.We are proud of you.

Young people are accepting the Police beating just to watch a movie star. This shows the common sense. A hungry person takes beating in process of finding food because of hunger makes sense. Shame to watch the behavior of some people. It is okay now for Rama Sene and Bhajrang goons to watch girls and boys falling on each other with excuse, just to watch John. But it is not right for a friend to celebrate Valentines day with friend of Opposite Sex. That is Western Culture for these Idiots. Time to stand up to these useless bunch of!!!
