Yashasvi Jaiswal blazes with 175, surpasses Tendulkar at 23

Delhi, Oct 12: Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his scintillating form in Test cricket with a brilliant 175 during India’s first innings against the West Indies in the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. This marked his seventh Test century and fifth score of 150-plus, making him the Indian batter with the most 150-plus scores at the age of 23, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. Only Don Bradman, with eight such scores before turning 24, remains ahead.

Cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar praised Jaiswal, humorously calling it a "grandaddy hundred." The southpaw was eventually run out after adding two runs on Day 2 following a mix-up with Shubman Gill.

“I always try to play as long as I can. If I'm there, I should just take the game forward… It’s part of the game, so it’s fine,” Jaiswal said.

India declared at 518 for 5, leaving West Indies at 140 for 4 at stumps.
