Nonagenarian Kashi Babu Shetty of Kuvettu passes away

Beltangady, Oct 13: Kashi Babu Shetty Kuvettu (90), a respected resident of Navashakti, Shaktinagar, Kuvettu, Guruvayanakere in Belthangady taluk, passed away peacefully at her residence early Monday morning due to age-related ailments.

She is survived by six sons, including Shashidhar B Shetty Guruvayanakere, a well-known entrepreneur, philanthropist and owner of Shashi Catering Services, Baroda. He also serves as president of Tulu Sangha Baroda (Gujarat), advisory committee member of Kannadiga Journalists Association Maharashtra and chief coordinator of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation, Gujarat unit, Mangaluru.

Her other sons Srinivas B Shetty (Baroda), Jayaram B Shetty (Delhi), Harish B Shetty (Delhi), Prashanth B Shetty (Baroda), and Rajesh B Shetty (Guruvayanakere) are all noted businessmen. She leaves behind a large family circle and many relatives.

Several dignitaries and community leaders extended their heartfelt condolences, including Dayananda Bontra (Belmannu), honorary president of Tulu Sangha Baroda; Yakshachakreshwara Satish Shetty Patla, founder president of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation, Mangaluru; Ajith Shetty, president of its Gujarat Unit; Mohan C Poojary (Ahmedabad), founder of Gujarat Billava Sangha; Manoj C Poojary (Surat), president; Harish V Poojary (Derlakatte); Nitish S Shetty (Shirva-Kodu), president of Bunts Association, Ankleshwar; Ravinath Shetty (Ankleshwar); Shivaram Shetty B (Surat); Shankar Shetty (Ankleshwar); Balakrishna Shetty, honorary president of Tulu Nadu Aisiri Vapi; Naveen S Shetty (Heruru); Sukesh Shetty (Honey Garden, Vapi); and Venkatesh S Poojary (Iruvailu, Silvassa) among many others who paid tribute to the departed soul.
