Brahmavar: Son of former Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary dies by suicide near Barkur

Brahmavar, Oct 14: In a tragic incident, Sudeep Bhandary, son of late former Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary, died by suicide near Barkur on Monday.

According to reports, Sudeep took his life by coming under a moving train.

While the exact reason behind the act is yet to be determined, preliminary information indicates that financial distress may have driven him to take the extreme step.

Sudeep was a resident of Hebri taluk.

A case has been registered at the Brahmavar police station, and investigations are in progress.

    Its high time, Govt should form Counselling Centers in every Hospital / Primary health Centers and provide Free Counseling for needy or people suffering from depression. Family Members and friends of the person under depression should give him/her moral support before he/she takes extreme step and take them to Counselling centers for proper treatment.

    @Name withheld, Mangalore; yes bro, it's cause is PTSD; this horrible disorder (pray nobody gets it), completely changed the course of life & made it meander against my wishes, & I am still under its pincer like clutches; I, personally, think this is all predestined! Whatever happens, happens for the good 😊!!

    Government should focus on these issues rather than concentrating on someone's religion. Save life. Show the way for the people to live. Countless deaths are happening among youngsters. Really sad.

    SUICIDE is done by Cowards ; Please RE-THINK about ur MomDad or anyone who took care of u till this time ; not giving any lecture or philosophy ; but if u are going thru depression first GO TO TEMPLE ; TRY TO DIVERT UR MIND FROM NEGATIVITY ; DIVERT UR MIND FROM SUICIDAL THOUGHTS ; make a habit of going daily to TEMPLE ; the god who gave u life ur forgetting dat god den how u will live a happy life ; Sudeep left ; what about his parents ; what about the sadness dey have to live with lifelong. or even the relatives ; SUICIDE = spitting on Mothers Womb.     Same with me. Even though I’m well settled in life, my brother’s suicide over 3 decades ago left a deep wound that I still struggle with every day. On top of that, a wrong decision I made during my student days continues to weigh on me, adding to my anxiety. Depression and anxiety truly affect both mental and physical health in ways that many don’t realize.
