New Delhi, Oct 14: In a shocking incident in northeast Delhi’s Nand Nagri area, a 20-year-old woman, Riya, was brutally stabbed over a dozen times by a 23-year-old man, Akash, allegedly over one-sided love, on Monday morning. Locals rushed her to GTB Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Police, forensic teams, and investigators immediately reached the crime scene, collected evidence, and arrested Akash, who is currently under police questioning.

According to Riya’s family, Akash had been harassing her for a long time despite repeated warnings. Her parents had even approached Akash’s grandparents to resolve the matter, but he did not listen.
Riya lived with her parents Munna and Pinky Devi, and younger brother Rohan, in C-Block of Nand Nagri. Her father works as a temporary sanitation worker with the Delhi Municipal Corporation. Riya had studied up to the 11th grade and was staying at home.
On Monday morning, Riya told her mother she was going to buy samosas around 9:50 am. During this time, Akash attacked her near D-Block. After the attack, he reportedly went to her house, told her mother, “I have finished your daughter, pick up her body,” and then washed his hands and face at a nearby hand pump before surrendering to the police.
Riya was immediately taken to GTB Hospital but could not be saved. Her body has been taken into custody for post-mortem, which is scheduled for Tuesday. Police continue to investigate the case.
