Mangaluru: Chain-snatching accused found dead near Mudungurukatte bus stand

Mangaluru, Oct 14: The body of a man was found under mysterious circumstances at the Mudungurukatte bus stand under the jurisdiction of Konaje police station.

The deceased has been identified as Niyaf (28), a resident near Pathuru Jumma Masjid. He had reportedly gone missing from home on the evening of October 12 and had not returned since.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Niyaf had earlier been accused in a chain-snatching case and was released from jail about a year ago.

Following the discovery of the body, police informed the forensic experts, dog squad, and fingerprint team, who visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Konaje police have registered a case and are investigating.
