Bantwal: Vehicle owner fined Rs 32,000 for allowing minor to ride motorcycle

Bantwal, Oct 16: The Bantwal ACJ and JMFC Court has imposed a fine of Rs 32,000 on a vehicle owner for permitting a minor to ride a motorcycle that later met with an accident.

According to Vittal police, the case was registered under Crime No. 74/2025 under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and Sections 4(1), 181, 146, 196, 199A(1), and 190(2) of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act, along with Section 115 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules.

The investigation revealed that a minor was found riding a two-wheeler bearing registration number KA-19-S-9666, which was involved in an accident. Following the proceedings, the court on September 26, 2025, convicted the vehicle’s RC owner, identified as Mohammad Anees, and imposed a fine of Rs 32,000.

Police have urged vehicle owners not to entrust their vehicles to minors, warning that such violations will invite strict legal action.
