Dhanteras, or Dhanatrayodashi, marks the beginning of the Diwali festival. Devotees celebrate the evening with Lakshmi Puja, lighting traditional clay lamps (diyas), singing devotional bhajans, and offering sweets to Goddess Lakshmi. The day also honours Lord Dhanvantari, the god of Ayurveda and health, making it a celebration of both wealth and well-being.
