Mani, Oct 18: A special programme titled Deepa Sanjeevini along with a monthly fair was organised at the Mani market in Bantwal taluk on Saturday, October 18, to mark the occasion of Deepavali. The event was held in collaboration with various gram panchayat-level federations of Bantwal taluk.
The programme was jointly organised by Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, Sanjeevini Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, Bantwal taluk panchayat, and gram panchayat-level federations of the taluk.



Mani gram panchayat president Sudeep Kumar Shetty presided over the programme. Panchayat members Balakrishna Alva, Ibrahim, Melwin Kishor Martis, and district programme manager Hariprasad were present.
The event aimed to promote the creativity, hard work, and self-reliance of women by providing them a platform to sell products made by women entrepreneurs. As part of the Deepa Sanjeevini segment, a variety of eco-friendly clay lamps were displayed and sold, which drew good demand from the public.
To mark Deepavali, taluk programme manager Sudha honoured the guests by presenting them with sweet packages prepared by women members of the Sanjeevini federation.
Entrepreneurs and staff members from 38-gram panchayat federations across Bantwal taluk, along with officials from the taluk Sanjeevini mission unit, took part in the event.
