Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School celebrates Deepavali with great joy & excitement

Mangaluru, Oct 19: The festival of lights, Deepavali, was celebrated with great joy and excitement at Lourdes Central School. The programme was organised at the school grounds on October 17. Conducted by the students of classes 11A and 11B under the guidance of Jayashree, Gowri, Raksha, and Megha.

The event was hosted by Keith Thomas D’Souza, Sharvi Shetty, and Seanna Milvia Rodrigues, who kept the audience engaged throughout. The celebration was graced by Fr Johnson L Sequeira, principal, Anita Thomas, vice-principal, and Fr Arul Joseph.

The programme began with a welcome address by Abhiram Kashyap of class 11A, followed by the thought for the day shared by Samprit Khambadkone of class 11B. Pareekshith U P of class 11B then spoke about the significance of Deepavali, reminding everyone of the importance of light, goodness, and togetherness.

The principal addressed the gathering, encouraging students to celebrate Deepavali with everyone and spread happiness wherever they go. The choir of classes 11A and 11B, trained by Raksha, presented a beautiful song on Deepavali, filling the hall with festive cheer. This was followed by a cheerful dance performance by the students of class 11A and 11B, trained by Megha, which was enjoyed by everyone.

The choir also sang a Sanskrit birthday song to wish the students celebrating their birthdays. The celebration ended on a joyful note with the bursting of sparklers on stage, lighting up the atmosphere and spreading smiles all around.

The Deepavali celebration was truly a memorable event that brought everyone together and filled the school with happiness, warmth, and light.
