Washington, Oct 19: US President Donald Trump offered a striking response to the nationwide ‘No Kings’ protests against his policies, sharing AI-generated videos depicting himself as a king while insisting he is “not a king.” The demonstrations, critical of his hardline measures, attacks on the media, political opponents, and undocumented immigrants, took place across more than 2,500 locations in the United States over the weekend.
Trump, speaking to Fox Business, said, “They’re referring to me as a king. I’m not a king,” while suggesting Democrats could stay out of government “forever” so he could continue cutting “Democrat priorities” such as welfare programs.

Hours later, he posted an AI-generated video on Truth Social showing himself wearing a crown, piloting a fighter jet, and dropping what appeared to be feces on anti-Trump protesters, including Democratic activist Harry Sisson. Another AI clip shared by US Vice President JD Vance shows Trump donning a crown and cape while Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats kneel before him. Trump spent the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida during the demonstrations.
Protesters organized rallies in cities including Washington, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, and picketed Republican-led state capitols, courthouses, and public spaces. Signs read slogans such as “Nothing is more patriotic than protesting” and “Resist Fascism.” In San Francisco, hundreds of participants spelled out “No King!” on Ocean Beach.
“It just feels like we’re living in an America that I don’t recognise,” said one protester. A former CIA employee added, “I fought for freedom and against this kind of extremism abroad. And now I see a moment in America where we have extremists everywhere…pushing us to some kind of civil conflict.”
This marks the third mass demonstration against Trump’s administration since his return to the White House, following a June protest at 2,100 locations.
