Mangaluru, Oct 21: Ladyhill English Preparatory ICSE School was filled with colour and cheer on October 18, as the Play Home and Kindergarten sections hosted a lively celebration featuring a fancy dress competition for the little ones and a series of competitions for parents wealth out of waste, flower arrangement, and cooking without fire.
The day commenced with the fancy dress competition based on the theme ‘Fruits and Vegetables,’ aimed at fostering creativity, confidence, and environmental awareness among the young learners. The programme was compered by Merlyn, while Lynet extended a warm welcome to the gathering. A soulful prayer song by the kindergarten teachers set a serene tone for the event.

The presence of vice principals Sr Joycelyn and Lavita Correa added encouragement and grace to the occasion. The tiny participants, dressed as colourful fruits and vegetables, charmed the audience with their delightful costumes and confident introductions, spreading smiles and excitement all around.
The competition was judged by Wilita Lobo and Arpitha Kumble, active PTA members of the school, who had the challenging task of selecting winners from among many talented participants. Teacher Mishal proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
Following the children’s event, parents took the stage for their own creative contests — wealth out of waste, flower arrangement, and cooking without fire. These competitions showcased the parents’ ingenuity and enthusiasm, as they transformed everyday materials into art, created beautiful floral designs, and prepared nutritious, fire-free delicacies.
The parents’ competitions were judged by Dhanalakshmi, art teacher and Predita Metalin, assistant teacher who appreciated the participants’ creativity and effort.
The day was a joyful blend of fun, learning, and collaboration, reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic development and strong parent-teacher partnerships. The dual celebration of the fancy dress and parents’ competitions made it a memorable occasion, strengthening the bond between students, parents, and the school community.
