Bengaluru, Oct 25: Even after the Diwali festivities, rains are expected to persist across Karnataka for another week, according to the weather department’s forecast. Coastal Karnataka, several parts of the northern interior region, and many districts of the southern interior are likely to experience continued rainfall in the coming days.

The department stated that a drop in air pressure over the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea has caused changes in weather patterns. Heavy rainfall has been predicted for October 27.

In Bengaluru, cloudy skies have been prevailing with light to moderate rain recorded in various areas. A yellow alert has been issued for Bengaluru on October 25 and 26.

For Coastal Karnataka, a yellow alert has been declared for October 26, followed by an orange alert on October 27. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. Overall, the weather department has hinted that rainfall across different parts of Karnataka is almost certain for the next seven days.

Between October 24 and November 2, the Krishna river basin region is expected to receive intermittent widespread to moderate rainfall, with heavy rain likely at isolated places on October 28, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) stated in its report.
