Mangaluru, Oct 28: Dakshina Kannada in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has directed officials to further develop basic infrastructure and amenities at the housing layout being constructed at Kunjathbail by the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to make it more attractive to residents.

The minister issued these directions during his visit and inspection of the Kunjathbail layout on Monday. He emphasized the need to enhance facilities such as parks and street lighting, and to create greater public awareness about the availability of residential plots. He also urged MUDA to promote information about the project across the district.

“The Kunjathbail layout should be developed with modern amenities. The urban development authority must give top priority to this project. The revenue generated from the sale of plots in Kunjathbail should be used for developing another housing layout in a different part of the city,” Gundu Rao stated.

MUDA chairman Sadashiva Ullal informed that the layout comprises 208 sites, and applications from the public have already been invited. The last date for submission is November 18. He added that the plot prices have been reduced to make them affordable to the public.

Later, minister Gundu Rao also visited the MUDA housing layout under construction at Konaje. Deputy commissioner Darshan H, MUDA commissioner Muhammed Nazir, and MUDA members were present.
