Bantwal, Nov 1: The scooter rider who allegedly obstructed an ambulance carrying a critically injured patient from Puttur to Mangaluru, despite hearing the siren, was remanded to judicial custody till November 14.

The incident occurred on October 30, 2025, around 1.30 pm at the N G Circle in B C Road, Bantwal taluk. The ambulance (KA-22-C-1382) was transporting a severely injured person from the Bisile Ghat accident site to Mangaluru for advanced treatment after receiving initial care at Puttur Government Hospital.

However, a two-wheeler rider identified as Mohammad Mansoor (38), a resident of Bettampady village in Puttur taluk, failed to give way to the ambulance, causing disruption to its movement.

Following the incident, a case was registered at Bantwal Town police station under Crime No. 128/2025, invoking Sections 110 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police subsequently took Mansoor into custody, and as per court orders, he has been remanded to judicial custody till November 14.
