Vagator, Nov 2: Five tourists from Banaras were severely assaulted by bouncers at a popular nightclub in Vagator late Saturday night, in an incident that has provoked outrage among locals and visitors.

Eyewitnesses reported that a minor disagreement inside the club escalated into a violent confrontation, during which the bouncers allegedly used iron rods, wooden sticks, and physical force, leaving several victims injured, including female tourists.

The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. A complaint has been filed at the Anjuna Police Station, and authorities have started recording statements from the victims and witnesses to establish the sequence of events leading to the attack.

Police have assured strict action following the probe, while local residents and tourists have called for heightened safety measures in nightlife establishments.
