Bengaluru: KCA remembers dearly departed souls with Holy Mass

Media Release

Bengaluru, Nov 3: Kanara Catholic Association (KCA) Bangalore maintained its long-standing custom of remembering our beloved deceased by celebrating the All Souls’ Day Mass at the St Joseph’s Boys’ High School Chapel on Sunday, November 2.

The Mass, celebrated by Fr Adrian Mascarenhas, was a beautiful opportunity for the congregation of KCA member families to remember and pray for the dear ones we have lost, especially over the past year.

The homily touched beautifully on the tradition that organisations like the KCA maintained in keeping our community together and a moment of solidarity in grief and sorrow with the bereaved. The prayers of the faithful & offertory items reflected the spirit of gratitude for blessings received and continued supplications for grace.

The devotion of the Mass was accentuated with well synchronised harmony of all-woman choral voices. The choice of hymns – a beautiful blend of well-known English hymns and specially selected Konkani ones – elevated the contemplative tone of the Mass and was much appreciated by the gathered.

The beautifully displayed remembrance table held our thoughts and prayers for our members who passed away with photo frames lovingly placed by their family. The pastel-themed floral arrangements lent graceful elegance to the overall ambience.

The Mass ended with a note of thanks from Shanti Peres, KCA president, acknowledging the efforts of everyone involved in the planning and execution of the day and everything that led to it. The evening ended with fellowship, snack boxes for everyone present, and tea. It was a time for members to socialise in the gentle joy of community that a well-attended Mass brings.

The evening was a testament to the unified collaboration that Shanti’s committee brings to the table every time – with attention to detail and a consistent eye for perfection.

A special note of thanks to Hilma Roach & Susan Gojer for sponsoring the generous refreshments post mass. The offertory items were sponsored by Mel D'Souza and the altar bouquets by KMA Peres, Jane Pereira for the beautiful remembrance table arrangement, Reena Serrao for preparing the offertory baskets and Luvena Rangel for the choir arrangement.

Choir members: Andrea Dsa, Prajwal Mathias, Priya Gonsalves, Rona Pinto, Samantha Pais, Savitha Gonsalves and Mervyn Menezes (Keyboard) and Winston D’Souza (Violin). KCA youth & MC member’s children: Rhea Carol & Ria Mathias for Videos & Powerpoint management during Mass. Rohan Pais & Karen Pais Prabhu for overseeing the logistics and refreshments. Dianney Lobo, Tina Alva, Ajay Fernandes, Coreen Fareed Dsouza & Roshan Menezes for back-end support. Non-KCA supporters Vinita Thambuchetty and Tessa Ramapuram for the beautiful presentation of the offertory items. And above all, Lunita Pais DSa for being the overall In-charge for the evening and ensuring smooth arrangements.
