Udupi: Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated at SMVITM

Udupi, Nov 4: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava on November 1 with great enthusiasm. The event highlighted the rich cultural heritage and linguistic pride of Karnataka.

As part of the celebration, various competitions were organized to encourage students to express their love for the Kannada language and culture. Events such as Maathina Minchu (pick and speak competition) and Kavanaanjali (poetry writing competition) saw active participation from students, showcasing their creativity and oratory skills in Kannada. In addition, students rendered melodious Kannada songs highlighting the glory and cultural heritage of the state.

The celebration was graced by Dr Nagaraj Bhat, Dean (academics), and Dr Sudarshan Rao, dean (quality assurance), along with faculty members, staff, and students of the institution.

The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the competitions.

The event served as a reminder of Karnataka’s glorious history and instilled a sense of pride and unity among the SMVITM community.
