Kanara Entrepreneurs Dubai hosts insightful wellness-centric networking event

Media Release

Dubai, Nov 4: Kanara Entrepreneurs Ltd (KEL) Dubai hosted an insightful members’ event on Saturday, November 1, at TIME Oak Hotel & Suites, Tecom – Dubai. The event was part of KEL’s ongoing commitment to supporting and nurturing its members in their professional and entrepreneurial journeys.

The highlight of the evening was an engaging session led by Pamela Durant, founder and managing director of Diapoint, who shared practical, real-life examples on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. She offered actionable, simple steps that anyone can start implementing immediately to boost overall well-being and sustain momentum in the fast-paced lives of entrepreneurs and professionals.

Key takeaways from the session:

  • Health is the New Business Strategy: Entrepreneurs and professionals must recognise health as their greatest asset — the foundation for energy, focus, and long-term success.

  • Sustainable Performance Comes from Lifestyle Choices: Balanced nutrition, regular movement, quality sleep, stress management, and meaningful community connections are vital.

  • Wellness Drives Productivity: Healthy leaders make sharper decisions, stay creative under pressure, and minimise burnout — driving both business growth and team morale.

  • Spot the Red Flags Early: Ignoring signs such as fatigue, poor sleep, unhealthy eating habits, or lack of exercise can gradually erode both personal well-being and professional effectiveness.

  • Start Small, Stay Consistent: Set SMART goals, take simple daily actions, and remain consistent — progress matters more than perfection.

  • Decide What Truly Matters: The greatest barrier isn’t time but clarity. When health becomes a non-negotiable priority, success naturally follows.

Pamela Durant is a healthcare leader, entrepreneur, and health and longevity coach with over 25 years of international experience in hospital and clinic management, healthcare consulting, and health education. As the founder and managing director of Diapoint, Pamela built a platform that combines e-commerce with education, coaching, community, and advocacy to support people affected by diabetes.

Following her son’s Type 1 diabetes diagnosis, she personally experienced the gaps in emotional and caregiver support — a realisation that inspired her to dedicate her career to closing those gaps.

The evening began with an inspiring introduction to KEL’s mission and guiding principles, delivered to an engaged audience.

Dorothy Fernandes, president of KEL, warmly welcomed members and encouraged them to embrace curiosity, collaborate, and tap into the wealth of experience within the KEL community to drive both personal and professional growth.

Eight new members were formally inducted into KEL Dubai during the event. The induction ceremony was led by Shobha Mendonca, Director – Marketing & Sponsorship, who administered the oath of office and presented membership certificates, marking the beginning of their journey within the organisation. The guest speaker was felicitated with a memento by Daniel Fernandes, director – finance.

The evening concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Vinisha Menezes, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement. The programme was seamlessly hosted by Avil Pinto, an active KEL member, whose efforts contributed significantly to the event’s success.

Kanara Entrepreneurs Ltd (KEL) is a non-profit, mutual benefit organisation founded by individuals from the Kanara region. For over two decades, KEL has remained dedicated to encouraging, supporting, and nurturing entrepreneurship within the community in Dubai.
