Bengaluru, Nov 7: Tuluverenkulu, a 35-year-old cultural association based in Bengaluru dedicated to fostering the Tulu language and heritage, has announced the election of its new office bearers for the term 2025–2027.
At the recently concluded annual general body meeting (AGM) held at Hotel Swagath, Bengaluru, Charles Gomes was elected as the president of the association. The newly elected team will lead Tuluverenkulu’s continued efforts to promote Tulu culture, literature, and community engagement.


The list of newly elected office bearers is as follows:
President: Charles Gomes
General secretary: Umesh Kotian
Treasurer: Gopal Poojary Patte
1st vice president: Chandrahasa Shettigar
Vice presidents: Gopalakrishna K, Palli Vishvanath Shetty, Rajaram Shetty Uppala, and Leelavathy Shetty
Joint secretary: Satish Agpala
Secretaries: T S Nagaraj Upadhyaya, Sekhar S, and S Haridas Upadhyaya
Immediate past president: Jalaja Shekhar
Executive committee members: Y Jayanth Rao, K N Adiga, Vijaya Kumar Kulshekar, P C Rao, Matti Ramachandra Rao, Revathi S, Suresh Kotian Chitrapu, and Nidhish Shetty
Established 35 years ago in Bengaluru, Tuluverenkulu has been a leading platform for promoting the Tulu language and preserving its rich cultural traditions. The newly elected leadership under Charles Gomes aims to strengthen the association’s initiatives and expand its outreach among the Tulu-speaking community in Karnataka and beyond.
