Dubai/Kozhikode, Nov 13: A tragic accident in Dubai claimed the life of Mohammed Mishal, a young photography enthusiast from Kozhikode, Kerala, who fell from the terrace of a building in Deira while trying to capture close-up shots of airplanes on November 7.

Mishal, who had been in Dubai for just two weeks on a visit visa, was staying with his cousins in Hor Al Anz. According to eyewitnesses, the 20-year-old’s leg became trapped between two pipes on the building’s third-floor terrace, causing him to lose balance and fall. He suffered severe internal injuries and was rushed to Rashid Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Family sources described Mishal as the only son of Muneer and Ayesha, with two younger sisters. A civil engineering diploma student in Kozhikode, he was known for his passion for photography and entrepreneurial spirit. Relatives said he had even discussed potential business ideas during his short visit to Dubai. His father runs a restaurant in Kozhikode.

Community members and social workers assisting the family remembered Mishal as a bright and ambitious young man whose life was cut short in a tragic accident.

Formalities for repatriating his body to Kerala are nearly complete, and the remains are expected to reach Kozhikode by Wednesday morning for the final rites.

Authorities in Dubai have once again warned residents and visitors against accessing unsecured rooftops or terraces, stressing the risks of such actions.

This marks the second fatal fall involving an Indian teenager in the UAE this year. In April, 17-year-old Alex Binoy, a student at Abu Dhabi Indian School, died after falling from his apartment balcony while awaiting his Grade 12 results.
