KCO Pearl Jubilee Celebrations: A night to remember in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Nov 14: The Konkani Cultural Organization (KCO) recently celebrated its Pearl Jubilee milestone with a grand event at the Abu Dhabi Country Club on November 8. The evening was a spectacular showcase of music, dance, and entertainment, featuring a stellar lineup of artists and a host of dignitaries.

The event, which was the penultimate and most awaited part of the KCO Pearl Jubilee Celebrations, was a resounding success, with a packed house that danced and sang along to the beats of renowned artistes till midnight. The evening began with a prayer by the chief guest, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore diocese, who was welcomed with a grand procession led by the Konkan Taaram brass band.

The dignitaries, including the platinum sponsors, gold sponsors, and managing committee members, were welcomed with flower bouquets, and the president Leo Rodrigues delivered a speech highlighting KCO's achievements over the years. The bishop felicitated the present and founder president Leo Rodrigues, past presidents, past secretaries, past treasurers and members, as well as platinum, gold, silver and support sponsors, in recognition of their contributions to the organization.

Fr Darick D’Souza OFM Cap and Fr Mariyan Miranda OFM Cap felicitated bishop of Mangalore on behalf of KCO and Dolphy Vaz read the citation.

The entertainment was provided by a talented lineup of artistes, including Ester Noronha, Jason Lobo, Lavita Lobo, Cassian, and The Band of Sanjay Rodrigues, Mangaluru, Crimson Tide, Goa, and Konkan Taaram brass band, Dubai. The evening was emceed by the charismatic Roshan D'Silva, who kept the audience engaged with his witty repartee and ensured that the event flowed smoothly.

The event also featured a stand-up comedy performance by Nitesh Shetty, who had the audience in splits with his hilarious jokes and anecdotes. The Pearl Jubilee memorial souvenir was released by the chief guest, a buffet was served to all and the evening ended with Laudate by KCO members.

The Pearl Jubilee Celebrations were a testament to KCO's commitment to preserving Konkani culture and promoting community welfare. The event was a grand success, thanks to the tireless efforts of the organizing committee and the support of the members and well-wishers.

The last and most awaited event from KCO as part of Pearl Jubilee celebrations called ‘Dabazo’ shall be held on December 7 at 5.30 pm sharp at Kulshekar church grounds.
