Mangaluru: Car goes up in flames near Nanthoor; residents avert casualties

Mangaluru, Nov 14: A car caught fire near Nanthoor in the city on Friday, November 14, triggering panic among commuters. The incident occurred when a Hyundai Verna suddenly went up in flames while on the move.

Local residents immediately rushed to the spot and attempted to douse the fire. A water supply tanker from the Mangaluru City Corporation soon arrived, and its staff worked to extinguish the flames by spraying water on the burning vehicle.

Thanks to the timely response of the public, a major mishap was averted. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Traffic police personnel were present at the site and monitored the situation.
