Jerusalem, Nov 18: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday condemned violent actions by “a handful of extremists” among Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank.
“I view with great severity the violent riots and the attempt by a handful of extremists to take the law into their own hands,” Netanyahu said, stressing that the perpetrators “do not represent” Israeli settlers in the Palestinian territory.

The statement followed clashes earlier in the day as security forces dismantled an illegal settler outpost. Later, homes and vehicles were torched and vandalised in a Palestinian village in the West Bank, escalating tensions in the area.
