Greater Noida, Nov 21: Displaying remarkable grit and dominance, Indian women boxers delivered a stellar performance at the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025, clinching four gold medals at the Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex on Thursday. The home crowd witnessed a day of emphatic victories as Indian pugilists outclassed their international opponents with clean 5-0 wins across categories.

Minakshi Hooda set the tone for India’s triumph by securing the nation’s first gold of the day in the women’s 48 kg final, defeating Fozilova Farzona with a unanimous verdict. Overwhelmed with joy, Minakshi credited her success to her support system. “I want to thank my district coach Vijay Hooda, ITBP, SAI, OGQ and BFI. The home crowd motivated me immensely. This has been my best year and I want to keep working hard to make the country proud,” she said.

Preeti strengthened India’s golden run with a commanding 5-0 win over Italy’s Sirine Charaabi in the 54 kg final. The momentum continued as Arundhati Choudhary powered her way to victory in the 70 kg category, defeating Uzbekistan’s Zokirova Aziza with yet another 5-0 result, completing India’s golden hat-trick for the session.

Adding to the celebrations, Nupur clinched India’s fourth gold medal of the day, overpowering Uzbekistan’s Sotimboeva Oltinoy in the women’s 80 kg final.

However, the session also saw a setback as Jadumani fell short in the 50 kg final, losing to Uzbekistan’s Asilbek Jalilov. She settled for silver, marking the end of India’s golden streak for the round.

Earlier, India had created history with 15 boxers entering the finals — the highest from any nation in this elite eight-only competition. Top names including Nikhat Zareen, Jaismine, Parveen, Pooja and Sachin were set to take the ring later in the day, keeping India’s medal hopes soaring.
