Mangaluru, Nov 22: Podar International School, Kottara Chowki, came alive with excitement, cheer and vibrant cultural essence as Podar Prep hosted its Annual Sports Day themed ‘Strings of Culture, Sprints of Energy’.
Adding to the festive spirit, children presented a light-the-lamp themed act, using colourful paper flames to symbolise energy, learning and positive beginnings.
The day opened with a lively march-past, where students proudly walked in formation. The school mascot, Jumbo, enhanced the joyful atmosphere, making the children even more enthusiastic.

This year’s event drew inspiration from Indian puppetry, celebrating tradition through movement, storytelling and playful performances.
A variety of engaging and age-appropriate activities were organised for the little ones. Children participated in fun and creative games such as Pom-Pom Dance, Ribbon Dance, Puppet Race, Shadow Matching Game, Stick the Tail on the Puppet Game, Match the Same Emotion Activity, as well as several other enjoyable challenges designed to improve coordination, confidence and creativity.
Parents and grandparents also joined in special fun games, making the occasion more interactive and memorable. Their participation added to the warm, family-friendly atmosphere, strengthening the bond between school and community.
