Kasargod, Feb 18:
Kerala CM Oomen Chandy chaired a review meeting at the conference hall of DC’s office here on Friday February 17, and discussed the progress made since the previous ‘Jan Samparka’ (meet the people) programme held on December 16, 2011.

There were 25,573 complaints received during the Jan Samparka programme on December 16. They were complaints which could not be sorted out at the district level and the CM himself was to handle those complaint letters.

MLAs and presspersons were not given permission to enter the meeting hall. DC V N Jitendran, SP S Surendran among others were present.

'Manjeshwar panchayat role model for entire Kerala'

Manjeshwar being the first panchayat to have e-payment system in the entire state, the CM asserted that it serves as an ideal panchayat. In this panchayat, people from any corner of the world can pay their taxes by accessing the website www.tax.isgkerala.gov. Though this facility was implemented in municipality earlier, this is the first time gram panchayat was enjoying this facility.

This programme was initiated with Oomen Chandy handing over the files to Manjeshwar panchayat vice-president A Mukhtar at a programme organized in the conference hall of the DC's office. MLA P B Abdurazak, N A Nellikunnu, DC V N Jithendran, Nisar among others were present.
