Ranchi, Nov 30: As India gear up for the three-match ODI series against South Africa beginning November 30, the BCCI on Saturday released an exciting training video from the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, featuring star duo Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma back in the blue jersey. Both veterans have now retired from T20Is and Tests and continue to represent India only in the ODI format.
The clip, which has gone viral within hours, captured a candid and cheerful moment involving wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. During the nets, Kohli stepped out to a good-length delivery and executed a perfectly timed pull shot, prompting an instant reaction from Pant behind the stumps.

“Bhai ji, acha ball tha yeh. Tagda maar diya!” Pant exclaimed, praising both the delivery and Kohli’s dominant stroke.
Rohit and Kohli last played an ODI together in Australia in October, where Rohit hammered a match-winning unbeaten 121, while Kohli remained not out on 74. The pair had stitched a solid 168-run partnership, reminding fans of their synergy at the crease.
Both stalwarts are also on the verge of major milestones ahead of the Ranchi ODI opener.
Rohit Sharma, currently the world’s top-ranked ODI batter, is just 98 runs away from entering the elite 20,000-run club in international cricket. He has already accumulated 19,902 runs in 502 matches, including 4,301 in Tests, 4,231 in T20Is and 11,370 in ODIs. Only Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid have crossed the 20,000-run mark so far.
Virat Kohli, meanwhile, is set to create history with one more century. He is currently tied with Sachin Tendulkar at 51 international centuries in a single format, sharing the record for most tons in any one format. A hundred in the upcoming series will make Kohli the first-ever player to achieve 52 centuries in a single format.
With both legends in superb form and fresh off strong ODI performances, the excitement among fans is palpable as India prepare to take on South Africa under the Ranchi lights.
