Kasargod, Dec 2: In an unusual incident on the Chattanchal–Deli road near Bendichal, an auto rickshaw driver was injured after his vehicle lost control and crashed into an electric pole when an owl suddenly swooped down and landed on his shoulder.
The injured driver, Yusuf, 50, from Talangare, has been admitted to hospital.
The mishap occurred when Yusuf was returning to Kasargod after dropping a passenger at Bendichal. Startled by the owl that unexpectedly landed on his shoulder, he lost control of the auto rickshaw, causing it to veer off the road and hit an electric pole.
The front portion of the rickshaw was badly damaged in the impact.
