Udupi: Konkani film ‘Bapache Putache Navim’ to release on Dec 6

Udupi, Dec 3: The much-appreciated Konkani feature film Bapache Putache Navim is set to release in Udupi on Saturday, December 6. Audiences in Udupi and nearby areas can watch the film at Bharath Cinemas, Times Square. The Saturday show is scheduled for 7 pm, followed by a 5 pm show on Sunday.

The film premiered earlier in Mangaluru, where it received an overwhelming response. It was also screened in the UAE and Israel, earning appreciation from viewers overseas.

Produced by Michael D’Souza and family, Dubai, under the Daijiworld Films banner, the project is supported by Vision Konkani, a cultural initiative founded by Michael D’Souza to promote the Konkani language and nurture local talent.

The 100-minute feature film is written and directed by noted filmmaker Stany Bela. The shoot commenced last November, and the team completed the project and brought it to theatres within a year. Cinematography is by Joel Shaman, music by Sanjay Rodrigues, and editing by Sharath Hegde.

The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Sweedal D’Souza, Dayan D’Souza, Ron London, Joshal D’Souza, Sunita Menezes, Mellu Valencia, Rita Fernandes, Sapna Saldanha, Melwyn Kalakul, Vinutha D’Souza, Eddie Sequeira, John M Permannur, Walter Nandalike, Jancy Fernandes and others.

The movie will also be screened at a theatre in Deralakatte on December 6 and 7.
