Dharwad: Dip in Ganga Cannot Transform Crow into Cuckoo - Kumaraswamy
Daijiworld Media Network - Dharwad (SP)
Dharwad, Feb 20: Reacting to the pilgrimage undertaken by former chief minister (CM) of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa, another former CM, H D Kumaraswamy (HDK), commented that taking a holy dip in the Holy Ganga will not transform 'a crow into cuckoo'.
Speaking to reporters at Hubli on Sunday February 19, he passed this comment duly referring to a song penned by celebrated poet Rashtrakavi Kuvempu. He also said that this pilgrimage will not be able to wash off the sins committed by the BJP leader.
On the 'unsolicited and free' advice by opposition leader Siddaramaiah to JD(S) to project MLC Basavaraja Horatti as the next CM, Kumaraswamy satirically said that Siddaramaiah has suddenly started showering affection on Horatti, who has been elected six times to the legislative council, and that this suggestion will be discussed with party leaders. He pointed out that Siddaramaiah had not taken any step to include Horatti in the council of ministers while forming JD(S)-Congress coalition government in 2004.
Yeddyurappa reacts
Angered by the 'crow' remark made against him by HDK, Yeddyurappa, speaking to reporters at Hubli airport, said that the people have already passed judgment as to who is crow and who is cuckoo, in the last assembly election and subsequent bypolls.
"It has become a habit for the father-son duo to pass unsolicited comments against others. People will show them their right places in future too. You can expect to get sweet news by the time I come back from my pilgrimage," he said, leaving the media persons to speculate what the 'sweet news' will be.
